Pace Calculator Online – Optimize Your Running Performance

Advanced Pace Calculator

Enter your distance and time to calculate your running pace, speed, or finish time — with a full split times table for common race distances included automatically.

What Is a Pace Calculator?

A Pace Calculator is a tool used by runners, walkers, and cyclists to calculate one of three key performance metrics: pace (how long it takes to cover one unit of distance), speed (how much distance is covered per unit of time), or total finish time (how long a run will take at a given pace or speed). Whether you are training for a 5K or preparing for a marathon, knowing your pace is essential for planning and improving performance.

Calculation Modes

Pace Enter your distance and total time to find out your pace in minutes per kilometre (min/km) or minutes per mile (min/mile). Useful for reviewing how you performed after a run.

Speed Enter your distance and total time to calculate your average speed in kilometres per hour (km/h) or miles per hour (mph). Ideal for comparing performance across different runs.

Time Enter your distance along with a target pace or speed to calculate your projected finish time in HH:MM:SS format. Perfect for race planning and goal setting.

How to Use This Calculator

  1. Select a calculation type — choose Pace, Speed, or Time from the dropdown menu.
  2. Choose your unit system — select Metric (km) or Imperial (miles) depending on your preference.
  3. Enter your distance — type the distance covered or planned (e.g., 10 km or 5 miles). Decimals are supported (e.g., 10.5 km).
  4. Enter your time — for Pace and Speed modes, input your total run time in hours, minutes, and seconds (e.g., 0:50:00 for 50 minutes).
  5. Enter pace or speed — for Time mode, input your target pace (e.g., 5:00 min/km) or speed (e.g., 12 km/h).
  6. Click “Calculate” — your result is displayed instantly along with a full split times table.
  7. Review the split times table — see projected or equivalent times for standard distances including 1 km, 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, and marathon (or their imperial equivalents).

What the Results Include

Pace Your pace expressed in minutes and seconds per kilometre or per mile (e.g., 5:00 min/km), calculated from your distance and time inputs.

Speed Your average speed rounded to two decimal places, shown in km/h or mph depending on your selected unit system.

Finish Time Your projected total time in HH:MM:SS format, calculated from your distance and target pace or speed.

Split Times Table A comprehensive table showing equivalent times for common race distances — 1 km, 5 km, 10 km, half marathon, and marathon for metric; 1 mile, 5 miles, 10 miles, half marathon, and marathon for imperial. This table is always shown after every calculation.

Why Use This Pace Calculator?

Three Modes in One Tool Calculate pace, speed, or finish time without switching between different calculators — everything is in one place.

Full Split Times Table Instantly see how your pace or speed translates across all major race distances. Great for race planning and setting time goals.

Metric & Imperial Support Switch freely between kilometres and miles. The calculator adjusts all inputs, outputs, and split distances automatically.

Decimal Support Enter precise distances and speeds as decimals (e.g., 10.5 km or 12.34 km/h) for more accurate results.

Dynamic Input Fields Only the fields relevant to your selected calculation type are shown, keeping the interface clean and easy to use.

Free & Instant No sign-up or payment required. Select your mode, enter your numbers, and get your results immediately.

Common Use Cases

Planning a target finish time for an upcoming race, reviewing your average pace after a training run, comparing speed across different workout sessions, calculating split times for race day pacing strategy, and setting realistic pace goals for 5K, 10K, half marathon, or marathon training.
