Baby Due Date Calculator – Estimate Your Pregnancy Timeline

Advanced Baby Due Date Calculator

The Baby Due Date Calculator helps expectant parents estimate when their baby is likely to arrive. By entering either your last menstrual period (LMP) date or your conception date, the calculator works out your estimated due date (EDD), your current gestational age, and the key milestones that mark the end of each trimester throughout your pregnancy.

It supports two calculation methods to give you flexibility depending on what information you have available. For the LMP method, you can also adjust the cycle length to improve accuracy if your cycle is shorter or longer than the standard 28 days. Results are presented in a clear milestone table and a visual pregnancy timeline so you can see exactly where you are in your journey.

How to Use the Baby Due Date Calculator

Getting your estimated due date takes just a few steps:

  1. Select your calculation method – Choose either Last Menstrual Period (LMP) or Conception Date depending on which date you know.
  2. Enter the date – Input your LMP start date or your confirmed conception date using the date picker.
  3. Enter your cycle length (LMP method only) – If using the LMP method, enter your average cycle length in days (between 21 and 35, with 28 as the default).
  4. Click “Calculate” – Your estimated due date, current gestational age, and trimester milestones will appear instantly alongside a milestone table and pregnancy timeline chart.

Why Use This Baby Due Date Calculator?

  • Two Calculation Methods – Supports both LMP and conception date inputs, so you can use whichever date you know with confidence.
  • Gestational Age – Tells you exactly how many weeks and days pregnant you currently are, not just the final due date.
  • Trimester Milestones – Clearly shows when your first trimester ends (week 13) and when your second trimester ends (week 27), so you always know which stage of pregnancy you are in.
  • Cycle Length Adjustment – Allows you to customize the cycle length for LMP-based calculations, improving accuracy for women with shorter or longer cycles.
  • Milestone Table – Organizes all key dates in one easy-to-read table, including your input date, trimester end dates, and estimated due date.
  • Pregnancy Timeline Chart – A color-coded visual chart maps out your full pregnancy from start to due date, showing trimesters and your current progress.
  • Free and Accessible – No registration required and works on any device.

How Is the Due Date Calculated?

The calculator uses two established methods depending on your input:

Last Menstrual Period (LMP) Method

This is the most commonly used method in clinical practice. The estimated due date is calculated by adding 280 days (40 weeks) to the first day of your last menstrual period. If your cycle length differs from 28 days, the calculator adjusts the ovulation estimate accordingly, which shifts the due date to better reflect your personal cycle.

Conception Date Method

If you know your conception date, the calculator adds 266 days (38 weeks) to that date to estimate your due date. This method can be slightly more precise when the conception date is known with certainty, such as through IVF or ovulation tracking.

Pregnancy Milestones at a Glance

MilestoneWeek
First trimester endsWeek 13
Second trimester endsWeek 27
Third trimester beginsWeek 28
Full-term pregnancyWeek 39–40
Estimated due dateWeek 40 (LMP) / Week 38 (conception)

Most babies are born within two weeks before or after the estimated due date, so the EDD marks the midpoint of a normal delivery window rather than a fixed date.

The Three Trimesters Explained

First Trimester (Weeks 1–13) – This is the most critical period of fetal development. Major organs and body systems begin forming, and the risk of miscarriage is highest during these early weeks. Many women experience nausea, fatigue, and breast tenderness during this stage.

Second Trimester (Weeks 14–27) – Often called the most comfortable stage of pregnancy, the second trimester brings visible bump growth, reduced nausea, and the baby’s first detectable movements. Key anatomy scans typically take place during this period.

Third Trimester (Weeks 28–40) – The baby grows rapidly and begins preparing for birth. The mother may experience increased discomfort, back pain, and shortness of breath as the baby takes up more space. This trimester ends with labor and delivery.

Who Should Use This Calculator?

This calculator is useful for anyone who has just found out they are pregnant and wants to quickly estimate their due date, parents who want to map out pregnancy milestones and plan accordingly, and women who have been tracking ovulation and know their conception date and want a more precise estimate than the standard LMP method provides.

Important Note

The estimated due date produced by this calculator is based on standard gestational periods and should be used as a general guide. Only around 5% of babies are actually born on their exact due date. For a clinically confirmed due date, particularly one used for medical decisions, always consult your doctor or midwife, who may use ultrasound measurements to refine the estimate.
