Marks Percentage Calculator

Calculate your academic performance easily and efficiently

Simple Percentage Calculator

Enter your total scored marks and the maximum possible marks to calculate your percentage.

Subject-wise Percentage Calculator

Add individual subjects with their marks to calculate overall and subject-wise percentages.

No subjects added yet. Add subjects using the form above.

The Marks Percentage Calculator converts your raw marks into a percentage, assigns a letter grade from A+ to F, and tells you whether you have passed or failed. It offers two modes: a simple calculator for a quick single percentage, and a subject-wise calculator for a detailed breakdown across multiple subjects. Both modes are suitable for students calculating exam results, assignment scores, or overall academic performance for applications and transcripts.

How to Use the Marks Percentage Calculator

The calculator offers two modes. Use whichever suits your needs:

Simple Calculator

  1. Enter your total scored marks — Type the marks you obtained, for example 450.
  2. Enter the maximum marks — Type the total marks the assessment was out of, for example 500.
  3. Calculate — Click “Calculate Percentage” to instantly see your percentage, letter grade, and pass or fail status.

Subject-wise Calculator

  1. Enter a subject name — Type the name of the subject, for example Mathematics or English.
  2. Enter marks obtained — Type the marks you scored in that subject.
  3. Enter total marks — Type the maximum marks available for that subject.
  4. Add the subject — Click “Add Subject” to save the entry. It will appear in the subject table with its individual percentage and grade.
  5. Add more subjects — Repeat for each subject until your full result is entered.
  6. View your overall result — The overall percentage, total marks, combined grade, and pass or fail status update automatically as subjects are added.
  7. Manage your entries — Click the trash icon next to any subject to remove it. Use “Reset All” to clear the entire list and start fresh.
  8. Save your results — Click “Save Results” to store your entries in the browser for future reference.

Grade Scale Used

Grades are assigned based on the following percentage ranges:

A+ = 90% and above, A = 80–89%, B = 70–79%, C = 60–69%, D = 50–59%, F = below 50%.

A result below the passing threshold is marked as Failed; all others are marked as Passed.

Why Use This Calculator?

Two modes for different needs — The simple calculator gives you a fast single percentage from total scored and maximum marks. The subject-wise calculator goes deeper, letting you add individual subjects and view both per-subject and overall results in one organised table.

Grade and status included — Results go beyond a plain percentage. Every calculation also returns the corresponding letter grade and a clear pass or fail status, so you have everything you need in one place.

Subject-by-subject breakdown — The subject-wise mode shows each subject’s percentage and grade individually, making it easy to identify your strongest and weakest areas across an exam or term.

Save and manage results — Entries can be saved to the browser so you do not have to re-enter them each time, and individual subjects can be deleted without clearing the whole list.

Free and accessible — Works instantly in any browser on any device with no account, download, or payment required.
